Introduction - Alfreton Cricket Club is a lively local sports club dedicated to the game of cricket. They regular meet and play cricket at the Alfreton Park venue and at other local grounds too.



History - Alfreton Cricket Club began life as Alfreton Colliery Cricket Club in 1927 and later became Alfreton Miners Welfare Cricket Club, following nationalisation of the Coal Industry. Ties with mining and the coal industry ceased with the closure of all local collieries and Alfreton Cricket Club became independent in the 1980s.

Groups and Organisations of note - The club 1st XI are members of the Derbyshire Premier League and 3 further senior teams compete in the Derbyshire County League. The thriving junior section provides cricket for young boys and girls of all ages, competing in the Notts and Derbys Border League at u15, u13, u12 and u11 levels.
